Platinum Motorhomes Ltd was founded in 2003 by Andrew Tapp, an ex-custom boat builder with two decades of experience in the New Zealand marine industry.
Through sheer hard work and commitment to quality, Platinum Motorhomes quickly became recognised in the motorhome market for our trademark wooden joinery interiors and luxurious features. Over the years, we have become a very popular fixture at motorhome shows, attracting much admiration and accolade from everyone.
With a well established client base and contacts throughout the motorhome industry, Platinum Motorhomes have grown to include a full team of qualified tradesmen and in April 2008, a new Director joined the company to keep on top of demand and help develop our new fibreglass composite range of motorhomes.

Andrew is a qualified boat builder with more than twenty years experience in building luxury and super yachts for the New Zealand and international market. Having worked in both Australia and Japan he is well versed in international trends for the discerning client. Andrew’s specialty is luxury interiors with a focus on finely detailed timber joinery and incorporating these skills into the motorhome industry.

The trademark of a Platinum Motorhome comes from our background in the marine industry and a preference for timeless wooden joinery, beautifully rounded corners and smooth flowing lines in the design, as well as classic interiors in luxurious fabrics and European fittings, and a unique attention to detail even ‘behind the scenes’.
Lessons learnt in the boatbuilding industry, means that a Platinum Motorhome features additional touches not seen in other motorhomes, such as:
• Tapering of the queen size island bed for a more spacious feel and easier access in the bedroom
• Rounded corners on all joinery and a velvety satin grain-fill finish achieved with 5 layers of sprayed varnish on all woodwork
• All wall and ceiling panels are individually upholstered in 6mm foam and vinyl for a soft luxurious look and easy clean
• Custom built dashboard with new chrome dials
