Endeavour & Cab Over Composite Motorhomes
New Zealand leads the world in composite technology – and now Platinum Motorhomes is making this technology available to the NZ motorhome market. We are proud to introduce our luxurious new Endeavour and cab over ranges of fibreglass composite motorhomes.
As the only NZ company we have designed and are building these motorhomes fully in-house, from plugs over moulds to finished product. This gives us a unique advantage in terms of cost and quality control, and we know and can guarantee all aspects of the building process.
Smarter design
A lot of time and effort has gone into the design of the motorhome and construction of plugs and moulds to achieve both an aesthetically superior look and practical design features that allow for ease of use and maintenance.
Built by trade qualified custom boat builders with decades of experience in fibreglass composite construction, Platinum Motorhomes can offer you brand new motorhomes that are stronger, lighter, rust free, and more fuel efficient than anything else on offer.
Stronger & lighter
There are several reasons why we identified composite fibreglass as the future for construction of motorhome bodies. Having a one-piece moulded self-supporting shell gives the advantage of structural stiffness and incredible strength. The motorhome body has a ‘strength to weight’ ratio far greater than steel or aluminium. It gives a superior product with no joint lines, no leaks, and a rust free product. We do, however, construct the front and rear bumpers on the Endeavour range separately for easy removal for repair, with no disruptions to your holiday plans!
One step ahead of regulation
Another reason was the introduction of the Euro 3 diesel emissions standard from January 2008, which basically meant an end to the import of second-hand Japanese buses that motorhomes in NZ have traditionally been built on. This created a need for brand new, quality NZ made motorhomes meeting these new strict emissions laws, which is where our Endeavour range comes in.
What is composite technology?
Composite technology is currently used in the aerospace industry, Formula 1, America’s Cup, and you may remember reading about the new Boeing luxury liner being built exclusively of composite material. Basically, composite is a composition of fibreglass and closed cell foam vacuumed together resulting in an incredibly strong and light shell with a high degree of insulating properties.
Lower RUC
Being made of the lighter composite material, the Endeavour motorhomes offer better fuel efficiency and you will be able to achieve a lighter tonnage sticker – meaning lower Road User Charges and no axle loading issues.
Superior layout with no conversion required
The Endeavour motorhomes are designed and built from the ground up as motorhomes, giving our customers the opportunity to incorporate all their design ideas and requirements from day 1. No conversion is required, such as lowering of floors or moving of doors or windows, which is normally an expensive and time consuming part of a motorhome conversion. The motorhomes have completely flat floors, so there are no wheel wells to take into consideration when designing the interior layout and we can get the maximum use out of the space available. Huge under body locker storage allows for installation of washer/drier, etc.
